Jaw dropping black wedding dresses for your wedding day
Sexy Wedding Dresses
Nothing says sexy more than BLACK WEDDING DRESSES for your wedding day. I mean, the LBD even has an entire Wikipedia page dedicated to it! Visions of the 1920s and the timeless elegance of Coco Chanel & Jean Patou come to mind. Coco “liberated women from the constraints of the “corseted silhouette” and popularized a sporty, casual chic as the feminine standard of style.” I’d say she is the experts expert on style. The little black dress is considered an essential item in a complete wardrobe.
I recently had a bride that wore a black wedding dress and it was ev.ery.thing. It was edgy, it was whimsy, it was elegant, and most importantly it was timeless. Fun fact, white wedding dresses became en vogue in 1840 when Queen Victoria wore white to her wedding. She also married her cousin, but we aren’t judging. Anyway, before she decided to throw caution and tradition to the wind, black wedding dresses were actually the norm! Fast forward to 2020 and we have brides wearing all different hues of dresses. I am all for mixing things up and getting married your own way. I love it when couples let their personalities shine, especially on their wedding day! A great way to be you is by wearing what makes you glow. Sasha & Rachel are the epitome of cool and their Aspen wedding day style represented them perfectly.
Favorite Black Wedding Dresses
If you’re thinking about being edgy for your wedding day, DO IT! If you’re not thrilled about something, YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO IT. SERIOUSLY. Not thrilled about doing a flower toss or cutting a cake.. YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO IT! I have plenty of couples every year that do WHAT THEY WANT and guess what, the weddings are that much more memorable. Guests LOVE it when couples infuse their personality into the wedding day – it feels that much more real. So if you feel like forgoing traditional white for a black wedding dress, I’m here to tell you yelling at you to
GO. FOR. IT.
There are so many gorgeous black dresses out there and there is a style to fit every personality. From a dramatic ball gown to a sexy slinky slip, a black wedding dress will be a classic no matter the era. An edgy bride will prefer an asymetrical hemline or a tuxedo-style dress. A classic bride will still be able to find a structured silhouette in silk, tulle and even lace. A more minimalist bride will prefer a body skimming, slightly slouchy dress. There are even options for a more laid-back destination affair made from linens to keep you cool.
I have compiled a short list of little black wedding dresses that will have you forgoing the option of wearing white on your wedding day.
