Caroline & Steven call NYC home, but decided to have a semi-destination wedding at Terranea Resort, a gorgeous Los Angeles wedding venue. Caroline grew up just down the street from the Palos Verdes wedding venue and always wanted to have a classic coastal wedding there. Terranea was the perfect wedding venue to host their 200 guests. Both Caroline and Steven got ready at Terranea, in different suites of course. Caroline kept her bridal hair and makeup classic, opting to keep her hair down. Her wedding gown was a classic silhouette with beautiful lace details, including lace sleeves. The couple had their wedding ceremony in Catholic Church, St. John Fisher Catholic Church, that Caroline grew up going to. The stunning north facing windows made this church a dream to photograph in. Caroline & Steven did not see each other before the ceremony, so we added a little bit of extra time in their timeline during sunset for some couple's portraits. The light was a perfect mix of glowy & overcast creating a feeling of studio lighting for their wedding portraits. Heavenly Blooms, a wedding florist in Los Angeles, kept the florals crisp with white peonies, anemones, and greens. Cocktail hour back at Terranea was on the lawn just off the Catalina Ballroom. Guests enjoyed the ocean breeze, lite bites, and plenty of cocktails. The reception tables carried those classic florals over with a mix of high and low profiles. The guests were welcomed into the ballroom and enjoyed a wonderful evening of great toasts and dancing. One of my favorite moments was during the cake cutting. Caroline surprised Steven, and all of their guests, when she smashed a bit of cake in Steven's face. His expression was priceless..
